It is expected that each seminar will have a particular focus (London: conceptual issues of finance and post-socialism; Hamburg: global finance in action; Bratislava: finance in transition and lessons for the future). Their aim will be to encourage an open discussion and understanding between specialists in finance and post-socialist studies, while at the same time engaging with, and learning from, practitioners and policy-makers. For this reason a carefully selected list of key speakers has been put together including:
-
Leading academics on finance
-
Leading academics on post-socialism
-
Policy-makers and practitioners working in the area of finance and/or in post-socialist contexts (central bankers, financial regulators, finance ministers, investment bankers, financial analysts, etc.).
We have already secured preliminary confirmations from several leading academics and policy-makers who have indicated their willingness to participate in our seminars.
Seminar 1 – London: “Finance, Crisis and Post-Socialism: Critical Perspectives”
Date: Monday, 5th September 2011
Venue: Queen Mary, University of London
