The members of the Department have a strong general interest in the pedagogy of their disciplines, frequently publishing papers in educational journals such as the Journal of Biological Education, Journal of Geography in Further Education (JGHE), Journal of Physics Education, School Science Review, Biological Sciences Review and Primary Geographer. The Department is located in an institution with a national reputation for teacher education and education research. There is a particular interest in environmental and development education, and papers have been presented at conferences in the UK, Sweden, Germany and Denmark. The group is concerned with developments at the interface between research and teaching.
