Welcome to Sciences at
Canterbury Christ Church University
If you are thinking of applying for a place on one of the science programmes this page is for you.
We are a small team with seven academic staff members of whom two are half time in lecturing (the other half is completely research based) and four science support staff. Additionally we are all supported within the Department of Geographical and Life Sciences.
Have a look at our Alumni page to see what our graduates are up to now that they are in the world of employment.
Events
The following pages relate to events that the department has organised or been involved with.
Practical Ecology Field Trip
Practical Ecology is a level 3 module taken in the June preceding the third year for full time students. It is assessed entirely by coursework and is normally completed very early on in the academic year. It is also good fun.
Bore Place Field Trip
Every year the level one science students and the staff go on a weekend away to Bore Place, the largest organic dairy farm in the UK.
This year's event was a complete success. The staff and students had a really good time and came back with an increased sense of community. Part of the weekend is spent in the famous egg race.
Recent research activity
Dr Corinne Martin spent time on a marine research ship as part of her work for the CHARM| Project.
