The Salomons Centre for Applied Psychology seeks to make a significant contribution to the development and delivery of health and social care services for people across the lifespan through a practice-focused application of psychological research and understanding.
The range of our work covers accredited postgraduate programmes, applied research, knowledge transfer, professional practice and consultancy. These activities address a broad range of key areas within applied psychology, psychological therapies, policy support and both service and organisational development. Alongside an established professional doctorate in Clinical Psychology we provide training for the improving access to psychological therapies initiative (IAPT) and a practice improvement programme for child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS). In collaboration with other university departments we are playing an increasing role in extending the contribution of the arts to health care.
The Centre is based at Salomons, near Tunbridge Wells. For further details see Location.
Undergraduate psychology programmes are provided within the Department of Psychology, Politics and Sociology based at the Canterbury Campus.
You can follow our activities and publications through our Facebook page or via our Twitter feed. We also have a regularly updated blog featuring articles on applied psychology and mental health.
