Chartered Clinical Psychologist
Margo lectures on the Postgraduate Psychological Well-Being Practitioner Course and lectures and supervises on the High Intensity CBT Course at Salomons. Margo is a chartered clinical psychologist and senior lecturer whose first degree was from the University of East London in 1999. Margo also obtained a Certificate in Education from the University of Hull and was an associate lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University for 5 years from 1999.
In 2004, she completed a PHD exploring attentional processing in people experiencing social anxiety and social phobia at the University of Sheffield. After completion of this PhD, she attained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (2007) also at the University of Sheffield. Margo's research interests are in cognitive processing in depression, anxiety and psychosis. She also has research interests in relation to the role of social phobia in psychosis and cultural diversity in a therapeutic setting.
Since qualifying, Margo's clinical work is informed by cognitive approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT). She has experience of working with adults experiencing a range of anxiety disorders and depression including clients with severe and enduring mental health problems. She has finished her Dialectical Behavioural Therapy training and worked into a DBT service for people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder who are actively suicidal and/or self harming. She has also worked in a Child and Adolescent NHS setting using CBT to help adolescents with anxiety and/or depression.
