Clinical Psychology
NHS funded places|, and self-funded places| for International, European and British Applicants, are available for 2012.
The clinical psychology programmes in the Department of Applied Psychology train clinical psychologists to work in mental health services in a way which ensures that they can make a real difference to Services. The programmes seek to integrate clinical, academic and research aspects of training to promote the highest quality of professional practice. The model adopted within the department conceptualises the clinical psychologist as a reflective scientist practitioner. What we mean by this is that we want clinicians who are able to evaluate and use the best available knowledge and skills in a context where they are able to reflect on the contribution of themselves, psychology, the profession and wider society to that process.
The programmes form part of the regional community of clinical psychologists and all contributors to the programmes (i.e. participants, supervisors and tutors) are involved in its organisation and management. The programmes are based in attractive buildings and surroundings at the Salomons Campus, Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
