Having been determined to pursue a career in psychology since beginning my A-Levels, I recently graduated from The University of Manchester with a BSc (Hons) Psychology. For my undergraduate dissertation, I was part of a small research team associated with the Manchester Centre for Health Psychology conducting a cross-institutional investigation into medical students’ perceptions of medically unexplained symptoms. Our findings have since been presented at several conferences throughout late 2014, with a paper currently being prepared for publication.
My primary duties as Psychology Student Advisor include providing psychology students with information and advice about the psychology programme, as well as about university-wide services and procedures. I also provide direct support to students who may be struggling due to personal or academic circumstance, while collaborating with academic, administrative and support staff throughout the university to continually improve the student experience for all psychology students.
