Internationally renowned artist Eduardo Paolozzi RA (1924-2005) accumulated imagery and collected things. Much of his work concerned the assembling and re-arranging of found objects; magazine ads, photographs, toys, machines etc. These objects may have been pressed into beds of clay for casting in bronze or pasted into scrapbooks as collages or simply placed together on tables and shelves. The endless play of both figurative and abstract shapes and images can be seen as the predominant creative impulse that connects much of Paolozzi's output from the mid 1940's to the end of the 20th Century. This exhibition profiles a unique collection of plasters, works on paper and prints, serving as an insight into the artist's method. An indication of the process which fascinated Paolozzi as much as the end product. A residency, Big Draw event and workshops and lectures will accompany this exhibition.
