"In 1996 I went to Luxor and I found the mud. 'Nile' means mud - life. The stuff, the memory entombed within, abandoned, living, out, or in use, hands leaving their mark and story. I began making work with it, then, about it. Now, it is colour and rhythm. Last year Canterbury Christ Church University College granted me research funds to work for two months on 'A cross-cultural expression'.

The first half of the exhibition Two Temples comprises paintings and etchings I did in that time, and the second part of the exhibition, The Panorama is how that research has developed into a body of new work in drawing, painting and prints."
