Car Sharing

Register / log in to 5HAREStaff and Students

The University is part of a car share scheme that allows staff and students to link up with other people and share their journeys.

www.5HARE.co.uk is a joint initiative with four other academic institutions in Kent, giving staff and students the best possible chance of finding a convenient and suitable match.

If you make regular journeys by car then car sharing is a great way to reduce your travel costs, while also helping to reduce traffic congestion and environmental damage. You don’t need to be a car driver to benefit either - you can also register as someone looking for a lift.

Why car share?

  • It is quick and easy to register - all you need is your University email address
  • Saves money
  • Reduces traffic congestion and pollution
  • Reduces CO2 emissions
  • Opportunity to meet colleagues

Car sharing is just one way in which the University is striving to become more sustainable. For more information about our sustainability plans, and details of the Travel Strategy, see the Travel Plan Strategy (pdf).

Sharing for visitors

The University supports car sharing for visitors to our campuses too. Visitors should see www.kentcarshare.com, the Kent County Council car share service, for more details .
