Culture and Communication
The Culture and Communication committee has been created to support the work of the other Environmental and Sustainability Committees. It’s terms of reference are outlined below:
Terms of Reference
Support the University’s Sustainability ethos through considering the cognitive and behavioural change along with the communication needed to support the achievement of carbon reduction targets by staff, students and the general operation of the University.
- Agree communication strategies to report on progress of all sustainability activities to staff, students and the external community and periodically assess the effectiveness of these mechanisms
- Take responsibility for sustainability communications to all key stakeholders
- Take responsibility for the Sustainability Website as a primary vehicle for internal and external communication
- Receive reports from the Carbon Management Committee outlining the University’s direct (Scope 1 & 2) and indirect (Scope 3) carbon emissions
- Propose strategies to support the carbon reduction for scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions
The committee reports to the Sustainability Strategic Management Group.
The key elements of the work of this committee will be underpinned by the:
- Engagement and Communication strategy (under development)
- Publication and awareness raising history
