Campus Curriculum
Through the development of Ecoversity at the University of Bradford Peter Hopkinson et al. identified a curriculum area that is distinct from the normally accepted formal and informal curriculum.
“A third distinct area that has the potential to shape and influence student attitudes, behaviour and learning is the role of the ‘campus’ as both a physical entity but also as representation and mediator of values and culture. Much has been written about the environmental management of campus operations such as energy, transport etc, but much less attention has been given to the way in which campus environmental management can be used to as an educational tool in support of learning about sustainable development. We call this area the ‘campus curriculum’.”
This section of our website is used to publicise and demonstrate sustainable development in action. It is for everyone, not just our students. Our staff, our neighbours and our stakeholders can learn and celebrate what Canterbury Christ Church is doing to support a sustainable future.
