Staff in the University's Computing Services, Learning and Teaching Enhancement Unit are celebrating after being shortlisted for two Times Higher Education Leadership and Management awards.

The Computing Services Department have been shortlisted in two categories: "Outstanding ICT Team" and "ICT Initiative of the Year" for iBorrow, a joint project with the University’s Learning and Teaching Enhancement Unit.

The iBorrow scheme, part-funded through the JISC Institutional Innovation SSBR Programme, is a self service laptop loan scheme introduced at Augustine House Library and Student Services Centre in 2009.

Dr Ian Ellery, Head of Computing Services, said:

I am delighted we have been shortlisted in two award categories. "It is recognition for all the hard work that has taken place over the past year. The iBorrow project and the ongoing delivery of a high quality and robust IT service are a reflection of the innovation and skills of everyone in the department.

The Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards are designed to celebrate the sector’s leadership, management, financial and business skills. They showcase the extraordinary innovation, teamwork and commercial acumen of UK higher education institutions.

There are 18 award categories for a variety of support departments within Higher Education Institutions. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner taking place on Thursday 17 June.
