Support for care leavers

Our support for young people who have been, or are in, Local Authority Care

Canterbury Christ Church University is proud to work closely with Buttle UK  and have a dedicated member of staff demonstrating our commitment to supporting Looked After Young People aspiring to university and in supporting them through their time here at Canterbury Christ Church University.

We are a member of the strategic partnership CLPP (Care Leaver Progression Partnership). This consists of a network of representatives from universities and colleges in Kent and Medway. The role of the group includes supporting the education and aspirations of Looked After Young People, and of Care Leavers. Convening regularly, the group works closely with Local Authorities, CXK and other organisations to share best practice and lobby for better educational outcomes for this group. We also aim to enhance progression in education and promote the support available to those in, and who have been in, Local Authority Care.

For all the services listed above, you can arrange to talk to someone, or make an appointment by contacting the i-zone - the easy-access enquiry service for all students. You can ‘ask the i-zone ’ online from the FAQs link at the foot of the University homepage or, once you are a registered student, through the Student Portal. Otherwise, you can call in person at our campus ‘i- zone ’ locations, tel: 01227 782222 or email: i-zone@canterbury.ac.uk.

Our friendly and helpful i-zone team will put you through to the staff concerned, or log a call for someone to contact you and/or make you an appointment with the appropriate adviser.
