Getting started

  • Students are expected to attend all classes and to abide by the GBS Code of Conduct.
  • Induction takes place over two weeks and will give students a thorough introduction to policies and the structure of their programme. The extensive support system will be outlined and contact information relayed, as well as the schedule of teaching and learning.
  • Module 1 will be an introduction to Academic Skills, developed to familiarise students with the requirements of study at university. Topics such as academic writing, paraphrasing and referencing will be taught, as well as academic misconduct.
  • Module 2 will teach students the value of reflection and reflective writing, as well as how to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP). The Module seeks to provide students with the skills to become life-long learners.
  • Module 3 will be an introduction to the world of Business. The module begins to familiarise students with the language used in business, as well as different structures and purposes of business organisation
  • GBS provides one-to-one support for students to hone their skills, as well as weekly online sessions on academic writing, paraphrasing and so on. Students can access these sessions through the internal system at GBS once they have registered and gained access to the intranet.
