22 June 2016
Canterbury Christ Church University student and CSR presenter Anna Louise Walter has won a prestigious New York Festivals International Radio Program Award.
Anna picked-up a Silver Radio award in the Best Student Radio Personality category at the awards that recognises the world’s best radio programs.
Anna said after receiving her award: “Thanks to my University, I was able to fly out to New York to attend the awards ceremony and meet radio professionals from 32 countries around the world. I can’t thank Canterbury Christ Church enough for giving me the opportunity to attend the awards in New York, and I also wouldn’t have found CSR without joining the radio course!
“A huge thanks to CSR, for allowing me to experiment with creative radio, for giving my show a home for the past (nearly) two years and for cheering me on along the way. When I joined CSR back in November 2014, having dreamed of becoming a presenter since I was 16, I found my passion in radio. I knew what I wanted to do and to have this recognition, is incredible.”
It has been a successful year for Anna as she also picked up Silver for Best Female at the Student Radio Awards; was chosen to present the Student Radio Awards Selector Show and has recently started presenting and producing at BBC Radio Kent and Fun Kids Radio.
Anna also offered her thanks to the Keith McLay, Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, for helping to fund her attendance at the award ceremony.
