First European Masters launched in partnership with CEPOL
08 January 2016
Canterbury Christ Church University’s School of Law and Criminal Justice and the European Police College, Cepol, have worked in partnership to launch the first cross-national Masters degree in Policing funded by Cepol: the European Joint Masters Programme (EJMP).
The programme is specifically aimed at senior police officers from all EU countries. The goal is for participants to develop creative and proactive leadership skills related to the EU Area of Freedom, Security and Justice Legislation that they will be able to implement in their national police forces.
The first module was held in Hungary where Dr Sofia Graca, Senior Lecturer in the School of Law, Criminal Justice and Computing, held sessions on research methods and policy assessment in policing. The two remaining modules this year will be taught in Finland in January and Spain in April.
The programme was designed, and is delivered by, a consortium of 13 EU partners and is fully funded by Cepol. The University is the only partner representing the UK.
