Visiting Fellow for the England Centre for Practice Development, Dr Alison Leary, has been awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) at this year’s RCN Congress.
Alison has recently been working on pioneering workforce development research with the Centre on the differing, complex areas of nursing care in the community.
Carrie Jackson, Director of the England Centre for Practice Development, said: “We are delighted that Alison has received this recognition for her pioneering work. Health and Social Care need more scientists who can produce systematic evidence to underpin decisions about what future services and workforces are needed to deliver person centred safe and effective care in this country.”
Awarded an HSJ Inspirational Women’s award in 2014, Alison is a highly effective leader and a role model for senior nurses, describing her work as ‘trying to make care safe through maths’. A simple approach that has truly revolutionised our thinking about how we quantify the contribution of nursing.
