Copyright
In this section, you will find information and guidance about copyright. The way copyright applies in practice always depends on the particular work and what you want to do with it. Follow the links on the left for information about copyright generally, about copying and about licences held by the university.
All photocopying has to be carried out according to copyright law and within the terms of licences we have from organisations such as the Copyright Licensing Agency. There are posters by the photocopiers giving details of which items you can copy from and how much you can copy. Please note that this is not a complete guide to copyright and should not be taken as legal advice. For further help on copyright queries, contact your Liaison Librarian or for Intellectual Property right enquiries, contact the University Solicitor's office.
Infringement of copyright is an offence under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
