Welcome to the Library Services web page for disabled users
We aim to support all staff and students in making good use of library services and resources and are constantly reviewing the services we provide for disabled users. If you have any comments or suggestions about possible improvements please let us know by contacting us.
Special arrangements and equipment can be made available for you if you need them.
Services we can offer you:
- a personal tour of the library to identify and discuss your particular needs
- help using the library catalogue
- help getting material from the shelves
- proxy borrowing - if you want to borrow items but are unable to come in. We will accept a friend using your ticket as long as you write a letter of authorisation for this
- extended loan periods for some users. Please contact the disability and equal opportunities advisor Margaret Scott regarding eligibility for extended loans
- height adjustable desks
- users with dyslexia or visual impairments can photocopy onto an alternative paper colour
- all library catalogue terminals (OPACs) have a zoom facility
- Text Help Read&Write and Inspiration software is provided via terminal services ensuring availability across all campuses

Guides and tutorials are available on searching, renewing
and requesting items on the library catalogue.
