Information skills
What are Information skills and why do I need them?
Library and information skills are important key, transferable skills which will help you:
- While at university: to know what information is available for your essays, assignments and projects and know how to find and use this effectively.
- After leaving university: employers look for applicants who can demonstrate these types of skills (often valuing them as much as your degree subjects). They are also useful in everyday life.
How can I obtain these skills?
Each section of these pages has been designed to help you obtain key information skills. And remember, you can ask for help in the Library at any time.
