As part of Library Services we offer the full range of services shown on the Library Services - Disabled users page; including help using the catalogue or photocopier, extended loans, proxy borrowing, or accessing material from the shelves.
Library services
Please contact the Salomons Libraries on 01892 507514 (Hayloft) or 01892 507717 (Mansion) or use the contact form:
- to arrange a personal tour of the library facilities to identify and discuss your individual needs.
- to arrange help in advance of a visit, for example, using the catalogue or retrieving materials from the shelves.
- to renew books, or to check your library record or the availability of items.
- to get help accessing online services such as webmail, blackboard, and e-Library.
Access to the Hayloft library
The Hayloft library is on the first floor of Runcie Court. A lift is available. If you want to check that the lift is working before visiting, please ring us on 01892 507514. Cars can be parked close to the Runcie Court entrance.
Access to the Mansion library
The Mansion library is on the second floor of the main house at Salomons but can be accessed up one flight of stairs by using the Science Theatre entrance, along the side of the house. A platform hoist is available to go up these stairs: you can ring us to check the hoist is working, on 01892 507717. Cars can be parked close to the Science Theatre entrance.
Facilities at the Salomons libraries
There is one height adjustable desk, with computer, available in the Hayloft library, and another in the Technology Suite, adjacent to the Mansion library.
