Area (Cs11)
The Learning Centre has over 50 PCs running Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. These computers are networked and allow access to e-mail and the internet. USB ports are located at the front of all the PCs and you are welcome to use USB flash/pen drives. All the PCs have DVD-ROM drives and half have CD/DVD writers. These PCs can easily be identified by looking for the "Super writemaster" or "DVD multi-recorder" logos on the drive.
Some specialist software titles such as Sibelius are available on every Learning Centre PC, however Macs and most specialist digital media and music software will only be available in the relevant specialist labs.
Two PCs are available on a height adjustable desk for wheelchair users.
Quiet study PCs (Cs04)
Quiet study PCs are available in the Library (Cs04) with the same software as those in the OAA. Printing from these PCs will go through to the facilities in the OAA.
One of the quiet study PCs is available on a height adjustable desk.
Eduroam wireless
Cs11 is a designated wireless zone. Guides on connecting to the eduroam wireless network are available from the Learning Centre foyer or from the computing services website. Alternatively you can download an eduroam configuration tool. Once you have a wireless connection you can print to the Ricoh MFD using the i-print service.
Printing, photocopying and scanning
The Learning Centre printing photocopying and scanning facilities are located within the OAA (Cs11). See the printing, photocopying and scanning page for details.
Binding and laminating
Materials can be purchased from the Learning Centre but if you are supplying your own, there is no charge to use these machines. If you are purchasing binding materials from outside the Learning Centre please make sure any combs and covers are of the 21 hole variety.
Alternate computing labs
Learning Centre group study rooms and other computing labs are available for students to use. These rooms can be booked via the Room bookings database
