Group study rooms
I.T. Training Room (Cs12)
The Learning Centre has an I.T. training room which can be booked by students for group work. Workshops and training sessions are also held here.
The IT training room facilities include:
- 8 networked PCs.
- A PC linked to a data projector - for computer demonstrations and PowerPoint presentations. Projector controls are on the wall.
- DVD and Video Player linked to the data projector.
- Overhead projector facilities (Please ask in advance).
- Whiteboard.
- IT study support available (one to one support sessions / small groups).
- The Learning, Training and Enhancement Unit (LTEU) run weekly ECDL drop in sessions. Visit the ECDL website for details.
Group Study Room (Cs14)
Cs14 has seating for groups of upto 8 people. It is equipped with a DVD/Video player and PC connected to a data projector for PowerPoint presentations and IT demonstrations. Projector controls are on the wall but you will need to borrow the remote control for the DVD/Video player from the Learning Centre issue desk.
Student Support Room (Cs16)
Cs16 is used by the Student Support and Guidance department and holds specialist equipment to help users with disabilities. The facilities include:
- Optelec ClearView+ CCTV
- Optelec ClearReader
Please ask a member of Learning Centre staff for help with any specialist equipment.
The room can also be booked as group study space.
Booking a study room
The group study rooms are situated off the main computing room (Cs11). The rooms are booked via the room bookings database. Take your confirmation slip to the reception desk on the ground floor to get the key to the room. When collecting the key please ask for the remote control, if you would like to make use of DVD/Video players in Cs12 and Cs14.
The group study rooms do get heavily used so it is advisable to book in advance.
