Welcome to the Broadstairs Learning Centre web page for disabled users

As part of Library Services we offer the range of services highlighted on the Library Services - Disabled users page; including extended loans, proxy borrowing, accessing material from the shelves and help using the catalogue.

Access to the Learning Centre

The Learning Centre is located on the second floor of the Carey building. An elevator is available to reach the second floor. If you wish to check that the elevator is operational before visiting the Learning Centre you may do so by contacting Broadstairs campus reception on 01843 609120.

Enquiries Service

Please contact the Learning Centre on 01843 609121 during office hours or use the contact form for any queries including :

  • arranging a personal tour of the library and computing facilities at the Learning Centre to identify and discuss your particular needs.
  • renew books, check your library record and availability of books.
  • help accessing online services such as webmail, blackboard, and e-Library.
  • arrange for help in advance, for example help using the catalogue or retrieving materials from the shelves.

Facilities at the Learning Centre

Height Adjustable Desks are available throughout the Learning Centre. Including a height adjustable library catalogue in the main foyer, study space in the Library and PCs in the open access area. Height adjustable spaces are also available in group study rooms Cs13 and Cs16.

Photocopier (Cs11) can be set to enlarge or used to copy material on to coloured paper.
