After qualifying as a general nurse at the William Harvey Hospital in 1985. I worked in Intensive and Coronary Care before completing my ITU course at K&C. I subsequently spent several years practicing as a Charge Nurse within ITU/CCU before spending a year working for the Regional Health Authority. This led to a range of senior managerial posts within the Trust that involved management of a range of acute nursing and medical services.
I joined Christ Church University full-time in January 2002 and predominantly teach on the IPL programme in years 1 and 3. My teaching focuses upon caring for acute and critically ill patients within a variety of settings. I remain passionate about the involvement of practice within nurse education and I am the lead link lecturer for the William Harvey Hospital.
