After qualifying as a general nurse I worked on a number of medical wards gaining a ward manager post for a medical oncology ward.  With the emergence of HIV disease I became a clinical nurse specialist for Haemophilia and HIV and assisted in the development of the Canterbury and Thanet AIDS team and the Kent Haemophilia Centre.

HIV education was an increasingly important part of the role and led to a nurse fellow post at Christ Church University and then a full time post in 1991.

I teach specialist and general topics across the programmes offered at Christ Church, and have held a number of administrative and projects roles.

I am currently undertaking a Doctorate in Education with a focus upon creativity in health care practice and remain involved in Haemophilia developments at national and international level.
