I qualified as a Registered Nurse from Canterbury Christ Church University College in 1997 and began my career at the Queen Elizabeth Mother Hospital in Margate working in acute surgery whilst I completed my undergraduate degree.

In September 2001 I became a lecturer-practitioner in the Adult Nursing Department at Christ Church and in 2002 I made the move over into full-time education and was employed as a permanent lecturer.  I am currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Nursing and Applied Clinical Studies lecturing mainly in acute care nursing, surgical and urological practice.  Other aspects of my role include being Pathway Director for the IPL Adult Nursing Pathway and Moving & Handling Co-ordinator for the department.

I have completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education), a Masters Degree in Advanced Surgical and Peri-operative Care and am currently studying for a Doctorate in Education.
