Since graduation from Kings College, London in 1991, I have had extensive experience in Orthopaedic and Trauma nursing, working in London, Hampshire and Kent.  My special interests remain in this field of nursing and more recently in falls and older people.

I have worked at the University since 2000, initially on a part-time secondment from a local Acute Trust but now full-time since 2004.  Within the University I am the Deputy Programme Director for the Interprofessional CPD Framework and Deputy Chair of the CPD Exam Board.  As well as commitments to post-registration education I teach on a range of modules within the undergraduate IPL programme.

I am Chair of the RCN Society of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing local group.  This is a developing network of nurses working with Trauma and Orthopaedic patients across Kent and East Sussex.

Currently I am in the process of completing my MSc Clinical Studies and Education at Brighton University.  My dissertation is investigating the perception of preparedness of newly qualified nurses working in an orthopaedic and trauma environment.
