I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1985 having completed my training at the Middlesex Hospital, London. Over the years I have worked in a number of specialities - oncology, colo-rectal and hepatobiliary nursing. One of the most exciting times was being a founder staff member in the establishment of a Nursing Development Unit in 1990 and implementing a Primary Nursing system within that Unit.
I have spent the last 13 years in education, firstly within a Training and Development Unit providing continuing professional development for nurses in a variety of settings and latterly at Christ Church where the main focus of my work has been in developing, leading and managing Pre-Registration Nursing Education. I have a particular interest in the development of non traditional routes into nursing and the student experience.
I am an External Examiner at the University of East Anglia, Norwich and enjoy the opportunity of undertaking validation/scrutiny events within my own Institution and elsewhere.
