PGCLT (NMC Route)
The department actively encourages members of the teaching team to achieve NMC Registered Nurse Teacher status. This can be achieved through two main routes.

Staff new to education will achieve registered nurse teacher status through successful completion of the PGCLT (NMC). This is a University wide programme that incorporates two nursing and midwifery specific modules and formally assessed teaching events. More details can be found at the PGCLT website.

Staff within the department who have already completed the PGCLT (HE) can achieve registered nurse status through written evidence of achieving the mandatory standards for teachers within their current role.
