The Allied Health Professions are at the heart of health and social care – working separately and together our professions can make such a difference to peoples’ lives. In our Department of Allied Health Professions staff are specialists in fields relevant to Diagnostic Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Paramedic Science, Speech and Language Therapy. The Department has a collaborative partnership with ABDO College for Ophthalmic Dispensing education..
Located at our Canterbury campus, within a World Heritage site, and Medway campus very close to London, we have extensive, modern clinical simulated learning suites and study facilities. Our students matter to us and we have excellent learning and teaching approaches to help you learn, taking research-informed clinical reasoning into practice to help those you work with.
Three final year Occupational Therapist students have helped to improve the quality of life of male dementia patients at Bridge Haven Care Centre by building them a pub. Working collaboratively with the Centre, the students developed the pub, over a nine week placement period with the help of Julie Taylor, Senior Lecturer of Allied Health Professions.
