Nancy joined the OT team part time in April 2006 on secondment from the NHS, becoming full time in September 2007.
Her clinical background has included adult and older adult mental health teams, along with forensic psychiatry. Prior to retraining as a mature OT student, her clinical background included working within acute, community and palliative health care settings.
Her current interests are community based rehabilitation, volunteering and role emerging areas of practice. She completed her MSc Inter-professional Health and Social Care (OT) degree with her dissertation focusing on Falls. She has also completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education with her dissertation on role emerging placements. Nancy is also involved with the Dementia Services Development Centre South East based at Canterbury.
Nancy currently takes the lead for recruitment within the undergraduate BSc (hons) programme alongside her teaching roles. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds professional registration with the Health Professions Council.
She is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists, and a member of the COT Special Interest Group for Older Adults.
