I am Head of Department of Allied Health Professions. Interprofessional learning and education is a key interest and I have worked with colleagues from many health professions for a number of years and more recently with others from education and sports science. With this background and as an active researcher in podiatry, tissue viability especially in the foot and with a special interest in diabetes and dermatology, I am very able to represent my profession (Podiatry) and others of the Allied Health Professions.
I am committed to working to enhance research capacity within the Allied Health Professions. I have contributed to major texts on the foot, have been invited to present at national and international events for my knowledge on the 'at risk' foot. I have also made numerous conference presentations, chaired many conference proceedings in tissue viability, diabetes and podiatry nationally and internationally. I have lead clinical studies involving the foot for a number of products and devices, including wound dressings and foot orthoses. I act as reviewer for journals, medical charities and national funding bodies.
