Background and research interests:
Eve is an occupational therapy service manager and researcher. Her research interests focus on multiagency working to meet the needs of children with disabilities, with the aim of improving their health and well being and increasing their participation and engagement at home and school. Recent work includes schemes of work designed to promote closer partnership working between teachers in mainstream primary schools and occupational therapists in East Kent through the occupational therapy into schools project. This led to early intervention and improved services for children with mild to moderate coordination difficulties in schools. Development of the A-Z of postural care, a research informed resource designed to support parents and teachers who are responsible for managing the postural care needs of disabled children. Recent funding from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) will examine if an educational approach to supporting those who care for children with postural care needs is effective.
