About the Faculty
The Faculty has trained nearly 4,000 health and social care professionals in the last five years, helping to make the University the largest provider of higher education in Kent for the public services.
Developing professional courses together with research and knowledge exchange activities are at the heart of the Faculty's priorities.
With a growing focus on postgraduate medical education, the Faculty attracts students from all over the UK and the world.

We have a strong focus on interprofessional education, sharing knowledge and working with others, and we are continually reviewing and developing our portfolio to support the changes taking place in health, social care and higher education sectors.
Health and Social Care departments and centres at the Canterbury and Medway campuses:

Allied Health Professions including occupational therapy, diagnostic radiography, paramedic science, operating department practice and speech and language therapy

Centre for Health and Social Care Research offering applied, practice focused and policy research

Health, Wellbeing and Family including midwifery, child nursing, practice-based play therapy, dance psychotherapy, health promotion and public health, mental health nursing, social work and learning disabilities

Nursing and Applied Clinical Studies including the England Centre for Practice Development.

Dementia Services Development Centre South East - as host and partner of the Centre, the Faculty, alongside Dementia UK and Avante Partnership, assists with the development of services for people with dementia

Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Music, Arts and Health - working with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities to research the contribution of music and arts in promoting wellbeing and health

Centre for Research into Children, Families and Communities - working with the Faculty of Education to undertake social, cultural, health and education research on issues affecting children, families and communities.
