Back to profiles |
My role within Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) is Cohort Co-ordinator for the medically themed MSc Health and Wellbeing awards. My key responsibilities are to provide module leadership, support and academic direction to medical and non-medical colleagues ensuring the high quality development, validation and delivery of themed programme within the existing MSc Health and Wellbeing Programme; and to provide a key contact for students to ensure cohesion, additional support and added excellent student experience. I work actively with the Director of the IMS and the team.
I have a keen interest in clinical/practice education and the application of learning, teaching and assessment strategies to facilitate practice learning and development and I also have a role as Senior Lecturer in Practice Learning. Multi professional clinical education and working underpins my approach to promote best practice in clinical education.
I have practice experience in primary care and acute care settings as an RN and RHV.I am a qualified lecturer. I was a GP Programme Director as a non-medical Programme Director for six years prior to my role in Practice Learning. I have worked as a Senior Lecturer in Brighton University. I have also worked as an Open University Tutor which has enabled me to understand the positive challenges of blended learning for Adult learners who are managing work roles as well as academic study.
I like to play tennis, cycle, yoga, travel and I enjoy art, history and literature. I recently took up painting in acrylics for relaxation: a work in progress!
