Jane Arnott has a background in nursing, midwifery and health visiting. She has been a Senior Lecturer in Community nursing at Canterbury Christ Church University for the past 12 years and is currently the Professional Lead and Programme Director for Specialist Community Nursing (Health Visiting and School Nursing).
In 2008, Jane became a Programme Director for GP training in East Kent and has been instrumental in the development of the Clinical Leadership in Commissioning (CLIC) rotation in East Kent. Trainees who undertake this rotation are encouraged to explore different elements of commissioning including the role of public health, social care, prescribing and the voluntary sector. Jane facilitates a range of workshops during the rotation which focus on leadership, emotional intelligence, transactional analysis. Jane has jointly run this year's ST3 Enhanced programme which is a more intense version of CLIC.
Jane is very passionate about the importance of inter-professional working and how this improves health outcomes for individuals and communities. She works closely with colleagues from social services, the police, public health,education and general practice to deliver an annual Domestic Abuse Conference.
