Special Arrangements

If you require any special arrangements to enable you or guests to attend your graduation/award ceremony, please inform via your reply form. We must receive requests/information prior to the closing date for replies.

Regrettably we cannot guarantee that the University will be able to accommodate any requirements received after this date. All special arrangements will be confirmed by the Graduation Manager before the ceremony in consultation with the University’s Student Disability Services.

The university works with a specialist company to ensure that guests and students requiring special arrangements receive tailored support in terms of gaining entrance to and navigating our venues on the day of the graduation, this will be discussed with you upon receiving a request for special arrangements.

Please note guests that may require assistance in an evacuation are encouraged to make themselves known on arrival at university campus sites.

If your arrangement changes or is no longer required please notify the Graduation & Events Office as soon as possible.

Information in Large print or Braille

The University is able to provide a version of the Graduation programme in 16 point font size or braille if required and requested prior to the closing date. This smaller version of the programme will consist of a copy of all the introductory pages and the page relating to the student.

The University will post this smaller version of the programme via special delivery.

Pacemakers

The security barriers at the entrances of Augustine House may cause interference to Pacemakers and therefore please ensure that you do not prolong your time at the entrance to Augustine House.

Live Streaming Option

The Cathedral ceremonies are live streamed and can be accessed free of charge from the comfort of your own home.

We also stream the Canterbury Cathedral ceremonies live to the St. George’s Centre (Student Union) and the Rochester Cathedral ceremonies to the Medway Campus (Rwg21). This has proven incredibly popular due to the availability of comfortable seating, access to facilities and refreshments throughout the duration of the ceremony. This is a free facility to whomever wishes to attend and we would like to take this opportunity to inform you of its availability as a potential alternative to the Cathedral should you decide that this option better suits your needs.
