Terms and Conditions

When viewing and downloading material from this website you will need to have read, understood and agreed to comply with the terms and conditions as set out below.

Contributors of material to this website have allowed the use of their works under the following conditions:

1. Permitted uses

  1. You are only permitted to use the material for the purpose of education, teaching, learning, private study and/or research (“Educational Purposes”) and then only to:
    1. access the site in order to search, retrieve, display and download the materials contained;
    2. electronically save the whole or any part or parts of the Graduate Skills Resources accessed;
    3. print out copies of the whole or any part or parts of the Graduate Skills Resources accessed;
    4. alter, add to, delete from, manipulate and modify parts of the material in accordance with section 21 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (“Modifications”);
    5. extract (replicate) unchanged part or parts of the Graduate Skills Resources accessed for re-use into another work;
    6. add notations and/or commentaries to any part or parts of the Graduate Skills Resources accessed;
    7. use any part or parts of the resources accessed as part of a composite work or a collection of works;
    8. incorporate any part or parts of the Graduate Skills Resources and modifications in virtual learning environments, managed learning environments and in any material to be used in the course of instruction. Course and study packs in non-electronic non-print perceptible form, such as Braille, may also be compiled;
    9. display, download, print any part or parts of the resources for the purpose of promotion of the Graduate Skills Website
    10. publicly display or publicly perform any part or parts of the Graduate Skills Resources and modifications as part of a presentation at a seminar, conference, or workshop, or other such similar activity;
    11. use any part or parts of the Graduate Skills Resources for such other uses as may be conducive to education, teaching, learning, private study and/or research
    12. allow current students of your institution to use Graduate Skills Resources and modifications in accordance with the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988

Provided always that each item used shall carry appropriate acknowledgement of the source, listing title and copyright owner.

2. Restrictions of use

  1. Save as provided under paragraph 1.1 above you and students of your institution may not:
    1. sell or resell the Graduate Skills Resources and/or Modifications;
    2. remove, obscure or modify copyright notices, text acknowledging or other means of identification or disclaimers as they may appear without prior written permission.
    3. use all or any part of the Graduate Skills Resources for any Commercial Use or for any purpose other than Educational Purposes;
    4. display or distribute any part of the Graduate Skills Resources on any electronic network, including without limitation the Internet, and the World Wide Web, and any other distribution medium now in existence or hereinafter created, other than by a Secure Network.

Commercial Use is defined as “use of the Graduate Skills Resources for the purpose of monetary reward by means of the sale, resale, loan, transfer, hire or other form of exploitation of the Material”. Use by Authorised Users of the Material in the course of research funded by a commercial organisation is deemed to constitute Commercial Use.

3. Notice and Takedown

  1. In the event of materials being held in Graduate Skills Resources becoming subject to complaint, you must agree to comply with instructions detailed in our Notice and Takedown Policy, and must follow any direction provided.
    1. Should you be notified that an item of Graduate Skills Resources you have downloaded under the permissions outlined in section 1. above is subject to a complaint, you must make best efforts to suspend use of the alleged infringing item and withdraw from circulation any materials that include it.
    2. Should you be notified that an item of Graduate Skills Resources you have downloaded under the permissions outlined in section 1. above infringes any applicable law, you must make best efforts to remove from the secure network all copies of the infringing item and all materials in which the object is reproduced.
