Open day for Health Visitor and School Nurse course, September 2013

The open day is an opportunity for prospective applicants to find out about sponsorship and secondment employment opportunities from Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and also opportunities to be sponsored by East Sussex Healthcare Trust.

The Department of Health (DH) is increasing investment in the training of health visitors and the number of Health Visitors employed in the NHS as part of the DH Health Visitor Implementation Plan. There are also increased opportunities for the School Nurse pathway

All registered Nurses and Midwives who are interested in developing their career in this specialist field are invited to attend this open day on Saturday 1st December 2012, from 10am -12 noon at:

Canterbury Christ Church University, Rowan Williams Court (Room Rwg20), 30 Pembroke Court, Chatham Maritime, Kent, ME4 4UF

The Postgraduate/Graduate Diploma /BSc in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing is a one year full-time course which prepares registered Nurses and Midwives to enter part 3 of the Nursing and Midwifery register, as Health Visitors and School Nurses.

If you are a student nurse or student midwife who will be qualifying soon, please come along to find out more about the course.

Return to Practice Health Visitors
If you have qualified as a Health Visitor but have not practised for sometime, and want to return to practice you are very welcome to attend and find out more information.


There will be a rolling programme about:

  • NHS applications, secondment and sponsorship (30 mins)
  • CCCU applications (30 mins)
  • About the programme (1 hour)
