Sex, Drugs, Rock.....and Health
Mark Burns, an expert in the field of edutainment(entertainment for education purposes), will look at the theory and practice of using pop music to tackle health inequalities.
Mark Burns worked for health promotion for over 20 years, using a variety of techniques involving music, football, computer games, comedy and other forms of popular culture. He has contributed to academic and professional publications around health promotion. He also has a background in therapeutic group work and is interested in how to bringing techniques from this world into general health education practice.
