Research Themes

Research in the Faculty of Education is organised through a number of cross-faculty research themes. The themes and corresponding theme co-ordinators are:

The theme groups provide a welcoming and supportive forum for discussions on research, writing and links to teaching as well as a focus for research activities in their particular area. These include regular meetings, seminars and workshops; reading and writing groups; collaborative bid and article writing; peer support in reading drafts of conference papers and journal articles; research mentoring. There are active links between the themes and members of the Faculty can attend meetings for more than one theme. Theme meetings take place on three Faculty Scholarship days per year and at other times as agreed by the members.

The themes encourage dialogues across the Faculty and wider University, involving staff and students, colleagues and friends within surrounding communities and through national and international collaborations. We are committed to the integration of research and scholarship with social issues of national and international importance.
