QiSS provides both long term critical friendship and focussed advise and support to local authorities, schools and third sector organisations with the planning, delivery and evaluation of effective Study Support programmes. Our purpose in all consultancy work is to support the increasing levels of learner achievement and the transformation of teaching and learning. Consultancy may be provided through individual contracts or as part of the national Quality Development Programme|.
Our focus is on four core tasks:

Identifying and clarifying the purposes of Study Support within the Children and Young People's Plan

Ensuring the embedding of Study Support within the other strategies to raise achievement

Providing support to schools, through advice and centrally organised programmes

Providing challenge to schools through quality assurance and evaluation frameworks

To support and ensure the quality of Extended Services provision
Regional Study Support Networks
These exist in each of the nine Government Office regions and are open for anyone who has a responsibility for the development and delivery of Study Support and Extended Services. Network meetings are held termly to disseminate information and support professional development. These networks receive support from, and liaise with, ContinYou, the UFA and the PfS networks.
