Quality in Study Support and Extended Services
QiSS is part of the Faculty of Education at Canterbury Christ Church University. QiSS assists LAs, schools and other partners in implementing quality assurance processes across schools, PfS Centres, summer universities, children's universities, museums and libraries, higher education institutions, community groups and other educational providers.
QiSS provides a range of services and training programmes accredited to Masters level, and publications to support professional development at strategic and operational level.
Research into the impact of study support and extended services is an integral part of QiSS activity. The goal is to embed study support and extended services as a tool for school improvement and raising achievement.
The aim is to develop critical communities with the capacity to use tools including the self-evaluation frameworks (QiSS and QES) to develop an effective extended learning strategy which contributes to the school improvement agenda.
