The Teaching Awards are designed to meet the needs of teachers in further and/or adult education and trainers in industry, commerce and the public sector.
Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Post Compulsory Education
|This programme aims to develop your potential as a professional teacher and subject expert, in order to enhance the learning of others in your subject area. We believe the programme is unique in preparing competent, reflective, critical and professional teachers and trainers.
Diploma in Teaching Skills for Life in the Lifelong Learning Sector - Numeracy |
This diploma course offers an additional qualification for Numeracy teachers who have already undertaken an initial teaching qualification. It is also appropriate for teachers of other subjects who may wish to also teach Numeracy.
Diploma in Teaching Skills for Life in the Lifelong Learning Sector - Literacy / ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)|
This diploma course offers an additional qualification for ESOL teachers who have already undertaken an initial teaching qualification. It is also appropriate for teachers of other subjects who may wish to also teach Literacy or ESOL.
Continuing Professional Development for teaching 14-19 |
Aimed at diploma deliverers this new CPD programme provides participants with methods to maintain, develop and apply occupational currency relevant to the teaching of their diploma line.
BA (Hons) Lifelong Learning|
The BA is a demanding, but fulfilling course for people working in Lifelong Learning who wish to obtain a first degree. The course has been designed to allow individuals to begin at the correct point given the qualifications they already possess or are embarking on.
NEW MA in Professional Learning and Education|
The PCET department is planning to offer a new MA in Professional Learning and Education (MaPLE), starting in September 2011. Building on the success of our MA in Lifelong Education and Professional Practice, the programme will offer a range of interconnected modules at MA level and will be delivered via blended learning. The programme will offer flexibility and accreditation, allowing the achievement of Post Graduate Certificate, Post Graduate Diploma and full MA level through a range of assignments and a final dissertation.
