The South East Regional Partnership
A programme of events for all gifted and talented young people aged between 4-19 is constantly being developed and improved, and includes a range of Saturday, weekend and holiday outreach opportunities across the South East. These are run by teachers, consultants and lecturers with specialist expertise in a particular field of work, and are intended to improve the education, attainment, motivation, aspirations and self - esteem of gifted and talented young people in the South East of England, whatever their background. The aim of the South East Gifted and Talented Partnership is to provide regional opportunities that compliment both a learner's school and Excellence Hub experience, allowing children and young people to engage with specialist opportunities within their locality that are difficult to provide within the normal school context.
The key aims of each Partnership is to:

build strong links between regional players;

provide additional and high quality learning opportunities for gifted and talented pupils of all ages through higher education institutions;

support schools and local authorities;

develop G&T provision in all schools in the region, using the G&T Institutional and Classroom Quality Standards, and the Needs Analysis programme as their main tools;

stimulate the supply of professional development for teachers.
Provision for Pupils and Students
The Partnership have sought to utilise both schools and their teachers across the regions, as well as Higher Education facilities and lecturers, to enable easy access to Saturday, weekend and holiday courses and events, for as manyGifted and Talented learners as possible.
Conferences
Enabling parents and carers to be genuine partners is also an important issue for the Steering Group and they are working hard to develop ways in which the Partnership can effectively work with parents and carers. Annual Conferences for parents and carers have run across the region since 2007. In 2010 three parent/carer conferences are to be offered across the region.
