Course Description
Gifted and talented young people are invited to apply for this exciting one week course specifically designed to extend their musical creativity. Centered in historic Canterbury on the UNESCO world heritage site the course will present opportunity for performers and composers to work alongside other talented musicians and with distinguished teachers.
The course will aim to;
-
develop performing, composing and listening skills
-
locate these skills within a themed project 'A sense of place'
-
present a public performance of work created during the week.
Students will take part on a daily basis in aural, performance, composition and drumming classes and will visit the world heritage site of St Martin Church, St Augustine's Abbey and Canterbury Cathedral for site specific work.
Students need to be at least Grade VI standard on any instrument to be part of this course, be open to new ideas and be prepared to work very hard !
