The Training Grant only programme offers unqualified teachers (employed by a school) who have sufficient relevant teaching experience, the chance to demonstrate that they meet the Standards required to achieve QTS by compiling and submitting a portfolio of evidence of their abilities as a classroom teacher.

Trainees follow a programme of six core days and optional subject days in the University over the course of the programme which can take up to a year to complete.
