How to apply for the Graduate Teacher Programme with Canterbury Christ Church University

Please note that the application process for Primary Trainees is now closed.

For Secondary applications you must go through the TDA.

  1. When you click on the link you will see a button on the right hand side of the page saying “sign up with the TDA” YOU CANNOT APPLY WITHOUT SIGNING UP – this is at no cost.
  2. To apply from the 1st of November you need to go to the section that says “search for a GTP training provider or employing school” this will then ask you to either type in where you live OR the name of the GTP Provider i.e. Canterbury Christ Church University. If you put in your postcode BEWARNED it will not automatically bring Canterbury Christ Church University up but your nearest provider so we advise that you complete the “Provider” section instead of your address.
  3. You’ll then be directed to our section of the TDA where there is information about us with a map at the bottom of the page. ABOVE THE MAP you’ll see a green button with “apply” written on it. This will take you to the application form that you need to complete.
  4. For Secondary applicants you need to print off your application form in order for you to send it to schools that we will list on our website in January.
  5. For Primary we will go through all the application forms in January and come back to you to confirm whether you have been successful in being invited for interview. If you are successful at interview with us you will be sent a list of Primary schools to apply to and you will need to take a copy of your application form with you.

You cannot apply for the GTP UNLESS you apply through the TDA website.
